AMD Radeon Fury X doesn't have HDMI 2.0 support
So if you had a peek about all & everything presented in the past few days, one thing you will have noticed. The new architecture doesn't seem to offer support for HDMI 2.0, but instead still uses HDMI 1.4a. This means with Fury GPU based products, like the new project Quantum for example which really is a small form factor PC, you can't fully use it on an Ultra HD TV.
See, HDMI offer bandwidth support for 60hz, on 1.4a it'll drop back to a measly 30 Hz. A big miss if you ask me, HDMI 2.0 is the answer for products in the living room. Especially Nano and Project Quantum in mind, this might not have been the smartest move from the engineering team within AMD.
It's a bit of a thing for 4K gaming in the living room I'd say.
This question was answered by AMD Matt from our forums:
Q: Does the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPU have HDMI 2.0?
A: No. AMD recommends and uses DisplayPort 1.2a for 4K60 content.

As I stated earlier in the thread, Bizlink (also known as Accell) has a DP1.2a to HDMI 2.0 ready for launch, it will be available this summer and they will probably not be alone in releasing 4k@60hz adapters, but will most likely be the first. They seem to deliver high quality!
There are some adapters promising HDMI 2.0 support available today, but they are not 4k@60hz capable, only 4k@30hz.
Wait for the proper ones to awoid headaches..

Just to confirm.
The AMD Radeon™ Fury X is an enthusiast graphics card designed to provide multi-display 4K gaming at 60Hz.
In addition, Active DisplayPort 1.2a-to-HDMI 2.0 adapters are set to debut this summer. These adapters will enable any graphics cards with DP1.2a outputs to deliver 4K@60Hz gaming on UHD televisions that support HDMI 2.0.

About HDMI 2.0 part of this thread i am using DP 1.2 stuff now and i don't even have to but my sound card plays a note when i switch off the screen - that must mean DP is better - annoying sound - but better, does even HDMI 2.0 support freesync ?
No, not on white paper, but AMD is experimenting with its data channel to get it working.

People keep saying that about the lack of HDMI 2.0, here's how I feel about it.
B. There are active Display Port 1.4a to HDMI 2.0 adapters out there that can handle the bandwidth just fine. If AMD were smart then they would include one.
There is no single DP to HDMI adapters that do 2.0. Even though they say so on store page does not mean that's true.
There is one probably coming from Bizlink or Accel but both says end of this year.

This GPU only has displayport 1.2 I thought ... Also as far as I know, there are no dp 1.2 to hdmi 2.0 adapters. If you know of one, can you please provide a link to it? I don't think most people would care about spending $25-50 on an adapter after spending $650 on a GPU and $1,500+ on a TV ...
