AMD Radeon Fury X doesn't have HDMI 2.0 support
So if you had a peek about all & everything presented in the past few days, one thing you will have noticed. The new architecture doesn't seem to offer support for HDMI 2.0, but instead still uses HDMI 1.4a. This means with Fury GPU based products, like the new project Quantum for example which really is a small form factor PC, you can't fully use it on an Ultra HD TV.
See, HDMI offer bandwidth support for 60hz, on 1.4a it'll drop back to a measly 30 Hz. A big miss if you ask me, HDMI 2.0 is the answer for products in the living room. Especially Nano and Project Quantum in mind, this might not have been the smartest move from the engineering team within AMD.
It's a bit of a thing for 4K gaming in the living room I'd say.
This question was answered by AMD Matt from our forums:
Q: Does the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X GPU have HDMI 2.0?
A: No. AMD recommends and uses DisplayPort 1.2a for 4K60 content.

Personally 4k gaming at maximum quality requires a lot of horsepower, if we take sli/cf into consideration, problems arise with games compatibility, scaling, drivers. Also cooling has to be sufficient, a lot of money and problems. Of course 4k looks great, no doubt, but too much hassle for now.
the only hassle of 4k gaming is the price of the hardware to run it, i bought a crappy Korean Samsung 4k monitor and im very happy with it for now, I'll buy a better one in the future When we'll see 144hz 4k in the future.

Yes very nice it is stable now, than capacitors will run out of comfort zone and die sooner and than whole VRM will make everything run out of comfort zone than u will see some artefacts and than something will short out and graphic card will die. Perfect idea of killing nice graphic card sooner for like 1 non important graphic effect.
About HDMI 2.0 part of this thread i am using DP 1.2 stuff now and i don't even have to but my sound card plays a note when i switch off the screen - that must mean DP is better - annoying sound - but better, does even HDMI 2.0 support freesync ?

I know I'd like a Really nice 4K screen too, but kinda short on cash atm so tempting myself to go the cheap route too then upgrade later in the year.
Hard to resist an Acer CB280HK 4K @ only £256 inc VAT !
Not perfect, some report flickering issues, which can be cured using the Acer driver. But is 60Hz, 1ms and has a bunch of connector options + a very versatile stand

Going to go hunt down some reviews shortly...
