AMD presents premium X670E motherboards from ASUS, MSI, ASRock, Gigabyte and Biostar

At AMD Meet The Expert, representatives from board partners talked about and showed off the new flagship X670 boards. This includes both the X670E and non-Extreme series.

The X670 motherboards are fitted with the new AM5 socket and support for PCIe Gen5 storage. Gen5 support for next-generation graphics can be added as an option, none of the companies have said what the fastest DDR5 memory speed is that any of these boards can support.  The boards displayed:

ASUS
The Crosshair X670E Hero is the first new design to be shown. It has an 18+2 phase design and 110A power stages (the Extreme includes 20+2 stages). It will also lack 10G networking, however, it will have a 2.5G network. The Q-Latch M.2 and Q-Release will make it simple to install M.2 drives and quickly remove discrete desktop GPUs.

MSI
MSI is displaying its MEG GODLIKE design here. It's a 24+2 phase E-ATX motherboard with 105A power stages. MSI validates that M-Vision Dashboard is included (on-board information screen). M.2 XPANDER-Z Gen5 Dual storage expansion card will be included with both the MEG ACE and GODLIKE. The X670E Carbon is designed with 18+2 phase and 90A power stages. The screwless M.2 installation will be the same as in the MEG series.

ASROCK is displaying their X670E PG Lightning motherboard for the first time; all other motherboards have already been displayed.

Gigabyte has four X670E motherboards on display, including the premium XTREME and MASTER models. The AORUS PRO AX and AORUS ELITE MX models are also unveiled. The XTREME motherboard has an 18+2+2 phase design, whilst the remainder of the AORUS series has 16+2+2.

BIOSTAR has introduced the Valkyrie, an ATX premium board featuring a 22-phase and 105A VRM architecture. It is compatible with PCIe Gen5 storage and GPU.

10Gb Ethernet is becoming "mainstream". What about 10Gb consumer router access points?

Sorry Biostar, i don't care which VRM you use in your boards, you lost me like 20 years ago. BTW the Chrosshair extreme IO looks amazing, thats the amount of USB people need, i'm very excited with this platform (i just wish something like thunderbolt come fast for AMD plaforms)

I just hope the Asus boards are not as expensive as the 690 Intel boards. Those are way over the top price wise.
