AMD Posts New Radeon RX 6800 XT and 6900 XT Benchmarks, mostly beating RTX 3080

And they're all beating the GeForce RTX 3080. AMD released a new set of benchmarks comparing Radeon RX 6900XT, Radeon RX 6800XT, and Radeon RX 6800 with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080, and RTX 2080 Ti in WQHD and UHD.

Small fun detail, the cards have been tested on a computer with a Ryzen 9 5900X processor, 16 GB ddr4-3200 memory and X570 based motherboard. The manufacturer tested the cards with ten popular games, and in almost all of those games, AMD's cards took the lead. And yes, of course, AMD is cherry-picking the titles, none the less all titles listed are pretty relevant ones.

RX 6900 XT outperforms the RTX 3080 by roughly 15 percent at 2560 x 1440 resolution and 13 percent a 3840 x 2160 resolution. A Twitter user who calls himself harukaze5719 has prepared all the results into two graphs, see below.

It's clear that AMD is there - they managed to create a powerful chip that combined (by their new technologies) with their latest cpu's can work wonders.
Of course I still expect independent reviews for performance with intel cpu's and older AMD (I have two systems one with i9900k and another with 3950X and I don't intent to upgrade soon - maybe to the end of the next year), thermals, noise, drivers, etc
The big question for me is availability: will they manage to avoid the Nvidia launch disaster?

Not really. Nvidia fanboys would rather wait 3080 for months and complain about amd drivers than get a faster available card.

the fact AMD took these 30 series numbers themselves on AMD cpu's and that they don't correlate to anyone in the review press, means i have bad news for AMD when nvidia rolls out r460 which has Ampere scaling fixed on Zen.
