AMD might detail new RDNA2 graphics card on March 5

On Financial Analysts Day AMD would share the first details about the new graphics cards that AMD has in the works. According to Mithun Chandrasekhar, the man behind Radeon product management, 'Big Navi', will change 4K gaming just as Ryzen did for CPUs.

“With the Radeon 5000-series we are essentially covering 90-something-percent of the total PC gamers today,” says Chandrasekhar. “And so that’s the reason why no 4K right now, it’s because the vast majority of them are at 1440p and 1080p. “Similar to Ryzen,” he says, “all of us need a thriving Radeon GPU ecosystem. So, are we going after 4K, and going to similarly disrupt 4K? Absolutely, you can count on that. But that’s all I can say right now.”

AMD’s Financial Analyst Day is scheduled for March 5, 2020 from 13:00-18:00 PST (21:00-02:00 GMT), and will be available from the AMD website – which Dr. Su was keen to point out.

Isn't it too early to call it rdna2? I suppose rdna+ is more to the point. Like zen. Zen2 came after zen+. Big Navi perhaps means just big and not something entirely new, unless they EOL Navi 1.0 based 5000 series and move to 6000 totally.

It wouldn't surprise me if big Navi is RDNA 2 on 7nm+ if the rumors that its 2x 5700xt performance. That would probably be impossible and keep it at the 300 watt limit. The clocks would have to be dropped considerably to keep it under that. There by reducing performance. So RDNA 2 does make sense. By the sounds of it, we'll know soon enough.

Its never to early when you are behind the competition. I'll say bring out everyhing you've got. It will force nvidia on the deffensive and prices will go down.
