No but it will have 8 cores with Haswell IPC, thats sounds nice if pricing is right.

That's not what they're aiming for, it's a fresh start on a new platform for AMD. This hasn't happened for years now since being stuck on AM3 forever.

AMD doesn't have to beat Skylake in lightly threaded tasks. They just have to be within a reasonable margin, at the right pricing with the right feature set. Zen should compete just fine in heavily threaded applications though.
