AMD GPUs based on Navi 12 and Navi 14 could launch mid-October

AMD GPUs based on Navi 12 and Navi 14 could launch mid-October

A recent update to the Mesa 3D software library is creating some chatter on the web. The update strongly suggests that AMD is working on video cards based on the Navi 12 and Navi 14 GPUs which would see the light of day half October.

It is still unconfirmed which price ranges AMD would like to specifically address with Navi 12 and Navi 14 however the Radeon RX 5600 and Radeon RX 5500 series are expected

The indication of October is due to the release schedule of the Mesa software package: release candidate 1 of Mesa 3D is scheduled in that timeframe. The programmer who posted this commit was already working on adding the PCI ID for Navi 14 earlier (at the end of August).

I really hope they offer good competition to the 1660xxx series.

My 570 needs to be retired.

I’m pretty sure they will. I think with the imminent release of these, we will see Polaris based cards going EOL.

5500 and 5600/5800. Both Polaris and Vega are going EOL before 2020 it seems. But I wonder if a full rdna 1.0 gamut comes out until end of 2019, what about 2020? Is there still a possibility for rdna 2.0 to come out next year?
