You can leave it up to AMD to think outside the box and actually implement it. The reality for this one is that back in 2015 AMD revealed its plans to launch a processor with 32 Zen cores and a Greenland graphics with HBM2 memories on the PCB under the code name EHP (Exaescale Heterogeneous Processor).

Since then there has been no news on the model. However, new AMD patents revealed that they continue with plans to launch an EHP processor. Twitter user Underfox posted a thread with a large number of patents that AMD filed, including updates to its next-generation CPUs and GPUs, that includes EHP which initially was thought to be canceled

Heterogeneous processors would be perfect for Datacenter centric workloads and Artificial Intelligence, offering the benefits of CPU and GPU in a single multi-use chip of maximum power. It will be interesting to see if this finally ends up coming true or if the CPU and GPU are still kept separately as we have seen so far.
