AMD Drops Ryzen CPU Prices Bigtime - By Up to 30 Percent

AMD Drops Ryzen CPU Prices Bigtime - By Up to 30 Percent

AMD is reducing prices on a lot of SKUs in the Ryzen processor lineup, in an attempt to attack Intel. Not every Ryzen and Threadripper processor is getting a price reduction, one processor is even seeing a price reduction of 30 percent. These are significant reductions.

The new prices still need to kick in on a global scale but on sites like Amazon you can already see the reduction. Basically, the entire Ryzen 7-series lineup can be spotted under a sub $350 marker, and that includes the flagship 1800X, the 1700X at $309, and the 1700 non-X at $299 (my personal favorite 8-core part price/perf ratios wise).

Another one of my favorites is the Ryzen 5 1600, that one sees a reduction of 14%, a 6-core 12-threaded part at 189 SD now, that's golden value. Have a peek at the table below, also added are the new G (embedded Vega) parts, prices on these are not yet available:

ProcessorCores/ThreadsOld PriceNew PriceReduction
Threadripper 1950X 16/32 $999 $999
Threadripper 1920X 12/24 $799 $799
Threadripper 1900X 8/16 $549 $449 18%
Ryzen 7 1800X 8/16 $499 $349 30%
Ryzen 7 1700X 8/16 $399 $309 22.5%
Ryzen 7 1700 8/16 $329 $299 9%
Ryzen 5 1600X 6/12 $249 $219 12%
Ryzen 5 1600 6/12 $219 $189 14%
Ryzen 5 1500X 4/8 $189 $174 8%
Ryzen 5 2400G 4/8   $169
Ryzen 3 1300X 4/4 $129 $129
Ryzen 3 2200G 4/4   $99

I guess they are clearing stocks ahead of any Zen refresh, some pretty good deals there.

I already grabbed my 1600 at that price on black Friday so I'm happy. But this is the time to jump on a new platform if u haven't and don't mind paying as much for ram as u do a cup.
