AMD Document Is Listing More Ryzen, but also Threadripper 29x0 Zen+ Processors

AMD Document Is Listing More Ryzen, but also Threadripper 29x0 Zen+ Processors

It's quite difficult to spot and decipher, but it seems valid. More 12nm Zen+ Ryzen processors are planned by AMD, but also Threadripper will see new proc launches based on the refresh as well as mobile Ryzen procs.

In a product SKU document that is online at AMD, read here, you can see all SKU codes listed for all active and pending processors, and when something like that is online so obvious, the guys at videocardz will spot it.

  • For the Socket AM4 you may expect three new SKUs; the Ryzen 3 2100, Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X. 2200 and 2400 likely are skipped as they are already in use for Raven Ridge APUs
  • Laptops will see a Ryzen 3 2000U, the Ryzen 5 2600U and the Ryzen 7 2800U.
  • However then there's Threadripper, you may expect an 8-core Threadripper 2900X, a 12-core Threadripper 2920X and of course a 16-core Threadripper 2950X. AMD will apply the same Zen+ tweaks to the processors; including memory latency optimizations and higher clock speeds. This is going to be huge for Threadripper.

You can download, check and decipher for yourself here, it's all there loaded straight from AMD.

Just think about the EPYC refresh, they can achieve much higher turbo clock now in same TDP.... RIP INTEL overpriced XEONS!

Shouldn't they have died on the first gen?
There's always going to be those stubborn people that buy Xeons either because of support, bribing, or purely because major OEM's are pushed by Intel not to use AMD.
From a business perspective, I think AMD machines are much more appealing now over Intel, but there's much more to add on the equations.

Discussion earlier this year with the service provider of the company I work for:

Me: So, our server is 4 years old, it's probably time to upgrade it. Can we get once of those awesome EPYC CPU's from AMD ?
SP: No, sorry.
Me: Why ?
SP: We only use DELL machines.
Me: So ? Isn't DELL selling any server with AMD EPYC ?
SP: No, DELL only sells machines with Intel Xeons
Me: *Sadpanda*

That's why AMD can't catch a break, it's being sabotaged everywhere.
