AMD Barts specifications leaked?

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/16/2010 07:00 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Asian tech site ChipHell published a leaked slide with the details of AMD's upcoming Barts PRO and Barts XT GPUs. These chips will replace the Radeon HD 5700 series, the most logical name would be Radeon HD 6750 and 6770 but there's also a rumor that the Barts GPUs may be launched as the Radeon HD 6800 series, as DVHardware just reported.

The slide claims Barts is based on the Cypress dual engine architecture and features full Cypress AA and pixel render performance. The Barts XT will feature 12 SIMDs, 48 texture units, 960 shaders, 32 ROPs, and 256-bit memory bus. The chip has a 850MHz core, 1GB GDDR5 clocked at 4200MHz and a TDP of over 150W. The Barts PRO is a cut-down version with 10 SIMDs, 40 texture units, 800 shaders, 32 ROPs and 256-bit memory bus. Core frequency is expected to be 700 to 725MHz, with 1GB GDDR5 clocked at 4000MHz and a TDP of under 150W.

The Barts PRO and Barts XT will take on NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460 768MB and GeForce GTX 460 1GB, respectively, and promise to offer better performance per Watt. The Barts GPUs are expected to be introduced in October. Check the thumbnail:
