AMD B550 Motherboards On the Horizon, unofficial prices indicate higher price levels

I've been mentioning that the motherboard makers as of a year or two ago have started to really increase mobo prices. A new list of prices for AMDs B550 series has been spotted, and even B550 is getting a substantial price increase.



Twitterer Momomo posted an overview of the prices in USD of B550 products from ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI. He compared with other chipsets, including Z490, X570, and B450 and that indicates the B550 being relatively expensive and sometimes not much cheaper than boards with Intel's high-end Z490 chipset.

The ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming is priced at $190 according to this list, while its predecessor with the B450 chipset had a suggested retail price of $130.  It can be emphasized that the boards these days are beefed up VRM wise, have PCIe 4.0, and often features such as 2.5gigabit- ethernet and AX WIFI. Of course, all the new features costs a bit more to produce. Have a peek:
