AMD Announces Ryzen 7 3700X, 3800X and Ryzen 9 3900X
During their Computex AMD Keynote AMDs Lisa Su has announced the first Ryzen 3000 processors. Ryzen 7 3700X (8t/16t), 3800X (8c/16t) And Ryzen 9 3900X (12c/24t). AMD also announced the clock frequencies as well as prices and availability.
In the keynote three processors are announced. The IPS, by the way, should be up by 15 to 25% overall combined with an increase in clock frequency.
- Ryzen 7 3700X
- Ryzen 7 3800X
- Ryzen 9 3900X
Ryzen 7 3700X is announced has 8 cores, 16 threads, 4.4 GHz Boost, and 3.6 GHz base. This processor has a rather low 65 Watts TDP. The proc was on stage compared to a Core i7 9700K and was significantly faster. Single threaded performance should be roughly the same.
The second proc announced is the Ryzen 7 3800X. This processor has 8 Cores, 16 threads 4.5 GHz Boost and 3.9 GHz base clock frequencies. It has 36 MB total cache. It has been compared to a Core i9 9900K on stage. The proc ran the same perf as the 9900K in game. This proc will have a 105 Watt TDP.

I don't think Intel can counter. They got nothing. They have been on Skylake since 2015 and will be on it for 2 more years..
They desperately need to move on to a new node and get more performance/watt but can't. So all they do now is 'boost clock rates' while the truth lies in the fact you'd never be able to hold those clock rates for more than 2 seconds at the chips supposed TDP.

The Core i7 9900K is 580$MSRP and we pay 650$CAD before tax. See for yourself:
https://www.newegg.ca/core-i9-9th-gen-intel-core-i9-9900k/p/N82E16819117957
With QC tax, it's 747.50$CAD. So, I would imagine ~80-100$ less for the R9 3900X. Give or take. Since the R9 3900X is 499$MSRP.
So, not as much as you are giving out to be.

AdoredTV........ Are you ok bro??
I think you need to talk to that "leaker" o_O
Anyhow, that 12 core CPU looks amazing, for $499 you get a 12 core 24 thread CPU @ 4.6GHz with a stupid amount of cache, 15% better IPC than previous gen, all within a 105W TDP!! This basically means that any X370 boards that supports the 2700X should support this chip easily.
Either way, that will be a day one buy from me!
EDIT:
Maybe they are holding back the 16 core CPU that has been rumoured so much, maybe that will have a 5GHz boost on 1 or 2 cores. They are probably holding something back to see what Intel counters with.
