2nd Generation Ryzen (Zen+) in a short overview:
AMD is announcing four processors in this initial release. With some pretty terrific prices, I must add.
- Ryzen 7 2700X (8c/16t) will get a base clock of 3.7 GHz and may Turbo to 4.3 GHz, priced 329 USD
- Ryzen 7 2700 (8c/16t) will get a base clock of 3.2 GHz and may Turbo to 4.1 GHz, priced 299 USD
- Ryzen 5 2600X (6c/12t) will get a base clock of 3.6 GHz and may Turbo to 4.2 GHz, priced 229 USD
- Ryzen 5 2600 (6c/12t) will get a base clock of 3.4 GHz and may Turbo to 3.9 GHz, priced 199 USD
You are going to notice that the X models have become much cheaper compared to the original Ryzen launch. The difference between a 2700 and 2700X for example, is 30 bucks. For that extra dough, you receive a better-binned processor that can run much higher frequencies in its default configuration. The 2700 series will be paired with a Wraith Prism (RGB LED) cooler, which is really funky actually. The 2600 series will get a regular Wraith Spire cooler.
Especially the new X models have exceptional prices.
