Amazon Launches Fire TV Stick 4K with new Alexa Voice Remote
Amazon launches their new Fire TV Stick 4K, which according to them is the most powerful streaming stick currently available. The Fire TV Stick 4K is the successor of the 2017 model and supports Ultra HD/4K video, Dolby Atmos 3D sound and all major HDR standards, being Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10 and HDR10+.
The product would be 80% more powerful than it’s predecessor thanks to a new 1.7Ghz quad-core CPU that should ensure smooth streaming, fast load times and excellent image quality. Also, the Wi-Fi has been updated with new antenna technology and a new powerful 802.ac WLAN chip.
Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K provides access to tens of thousands of channels, apps, and Alexa skills as well as more than 500,000 movies and serie episodes from services like Prime Video, Hulu, STARZ, SHOWTIME, CBS All Access and Netflix. The stick also runs Firefox or Amazon Silk, which means users can access millions of websites such as YouTube, Instagram, Reddit or Facebook. Through Amazon Music, Spotify and TuneIn, users can listen to all kinds of songs, playlists, internet radio stations and podcasts.
The stick comes with a new Alexa voice remote control which combines Bluetooth, multi-directional infrared and Alexa to control compatible TVs, soundbars and receivers. Fire TV Stick 4K will become available in the United States around October 31st this year. In the United Kingdom and EU that likely is November 14th at prices of $49.99 in the US and £49.99 in the UK.

I have the previous generation one and it runs hot. Does a great job with 1080P and I live in a raised ranch and have it located downstairs on the opposite end of the house. Had it for about a year but recently the remote has a weird delay. Taking the batteries out and re inserting them seems to fix the issue for a few days. I have KODI Kryptonite or whatever it's spelt and all the shows and movies for Free! I also have AMAZON PRIME and impressively loads movies within secs without stutter and I have basic cable/Internet. I got it since I'm a PRIME customer for $20 Quad core and like 2-4GB of Ram and the graphics for video games is amazing. I use a cheap knock off version of an Xbox game controller that use BLUETOOTH and it's awesome. You can also use it instead of the remote but I like using ALEXA to find me movies and tells the weather etc.

^^ I just recently bought 4 fire sticks (1080p) and a wireless Xbox One controller for my PC. I hadn't even thought about connecting it to the Fire Stick. I had only tried Crossy Road through the amazon remote and to be honest, it's pretty impressive gaming coming from a little stick meant for video streaming.
Like Airbud, I'm also mildly curious about SlingTV. I'm a cord cutter and I need my local sports back. The MLB and NFL blackout all local regional games, even for streamers. But, I can watch any other teams except my own. It's madness.
