Alienware M11x Gets Core i3/i5/i7 gets NVIDIA Optimus

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/11/2010 09:41 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Alienware M11x was said to have been designed as the gaming alternative to the netbook industry, but Dell preferred to call it an ultraportable gaming machine.

This laptop comes with a 11.1-inch chassis and packed some of the most performance-capable components for its form factor. On that note, it appears that the small gaming rig is about to get a much-welcome upgrade that is bound to further boost up performance.

Now optional are Intel's latest Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors. This is certainly a step up from the Intel Core 2 Duo processors that were available on the initial design. In addition, it appears that users will also be able to take advantage of that unique NVIDIA Optimus technology, which is expected to increase battery life, without compromising on battery life.

The move to the latest processors should be appreciated by fans of the Alienware brand and computer enthusiasts, which will now be able to enjoy a gaming experience on a solid portable computer that comes with a stunning 11.6-inch display. The new upgrade option doesn't include the system graphics card and other components, with the machine supporting the GeForce GT 335M, up to 8GB of RAM and an option for an HDD or an SSD. Dell's Alienware M11x is now available.
