Alder Lake-S sample has 5.3GHz boost clock scores 11300 points in Cinebench R20

Alder Lake-S sample has 5.3GHz boost clock scores 11300 points in Cinebench R20

It's a rumor of the highest category this one, but a Chinese forum user claims to have a sample that reaches a boost clock speed of 5.3 GHz. At the end of this year, Intel will introduce the CPUs of Alder Lake; samples info will get leaked sometimes.

In any event, Core i9 12900K in question is an overclockable CPU with 8 Golden Cove cores and 8 Gracemont cores (BIG.little). In Cinebench R20's multi-threaded test he'd score about 11,300 points, which is 10% fasterer than a Ryzen 9 5950X.

The boost clock of 5.3 GHz is lower than expected, previously there were rumors of a boost clock of 5.5 GHz. The qualification sample designation means that it should perform more or less the same as the actual production model, while further improvements are possible for an engineering sample.

Twitter-based YuuKi AnS,  says it does not yet have the full potential of Alder Lake, Windows 11 would be needed. This may have to do with the task scheduler since Windows 11 should better be able to handle CPU cores of various sizes. In addition, the frequency of the clock may still improve.

So many users changed to ryzen lately especially here on guru3d that some having issues is not that uncommon. Many have a flawless experience i for instance never had usb issues or any other. except @nizzen no one bought intel 11gen cpu. :D

yeah he's pretty,let's say,unique to get an 11th gen
except for people who bought 11400.this cpu rips eveything in value.

The i7-980X was insanely future proof, but came with an equally insane price tag.

meh the i7 980 was a far better choice anyway because of the ability to OC through the FSB. My sister has my old one still kicking ass and chewing bubble gum at a modest 4ghz on an even more modest Corsair H60i. Tested it non stop for two weeks straight never broke 80c. She lives far from me so I wanted to run it at a lower speed for more stability but the chip was hitting 4.4 with my H115i(before the pump died RiP)

A proper 5950x setup hits at least 12500 points, a good one 13500-14000.

Also if you youtube search 5950x stock vs 7980xe max oc games benchmark, you'll also notice easy 20-40 fps difference in some games.
When the 5950x is also tuned, you end up at at least 30-50 fps more in some games.

I would not call that the same performance.

Also aside of cinebench, if you look at all kind of different benchmarks like 7zip, AES etc. you'll notice that the 5950x also destoys the 7980xe
I don't need to search the youtube.
Looks like the performance is pretty much the same ;)
Try to compare this to 5950x :)

Are you talking about 30-50fps in 1080p game?
What gamebenchmark do you want to see for comparing?

Pleace show me 14k in CB 20 with 5950x watercooling!

I'm buying every single high end cpu to overclock, so I overclocked 11900k too :p
