Alder Lake CPUs run admirably with RPCS3 emulator, thanks to AVX-512.
AVX-512 support was done by the developers of the RPCS3 emulator for the Playstation 3, who wanted to see how the new Alder Lake architecture behaved with their emulator.
By disabling the high-efficiency cores, they were able to get some impressive results. The reason for this is that the AVX-512 instruction set is only supported by high-performance cores and that its support is deactivated while high-efficiency cores are also in use by the system.According to the RPCS3 team, the following statements were made:
If you are using an Alder Lake CPU (Intel 12th Gen) in RPCS3, make sure to disable the small cores, otherwise you will be leaving a lot of performance on the table. By disabling the "E" Cores you get AVX-512 and a higher Ring multiplier. ADL performance is by far the best among any CPU architecture.
11900k vs. 12900K, both at 5.2GHz, both with AVX-512 and HT disabled. In the starting area of God Of War: Ascension, there is a +10 FPS buff, from ~ 68 to ~ 78. The 11th. Intel's Gen already outscored Zen 3 in RPCS3 by a bit, and 12th. Gen widens the gap even further.
To achieve the best performance, it is recommended that not only the "E" cores be disabled, but also the hyperthreading in the "P" cores be disabled, something that RPCS3 has already recommended doing in prior generations of processors. As a result, you will enjoy the finest possible performance in the emulation of PS3 games, which is already in a fantastic state of readiness.
The emulator's developers recently announced that there is no known game or application that is not capable of booting in the emulator, and according to the emulator's official website, 63.67 percent of the games are fully playable, with an additional 30.52 percent of the games being playable in some capacity. Despite the fact that there can be faults or glitches.

Not me. It runs well on my 5600x.
Aint worth the stupid premium of a z590 setup and DDR5 for Intel$$$$.

I'm sure getting the 5950x as a drop in upgrade is a far better option and cheaper than upgrading the entire system cpu/mobo/ram

A 12600KF costs less than a 5600X, has 4 additional cores (albeit, E cores), and can be paired with DDR4.
If I were going with a fresh new system, I'd choose the 12600KF over the 5600X. Though, if I were going with a new system, I'd wait for the 6600X first.

Or y'know, just get an actual PS3.

You get proper USB support too :p
Ryzen is a mess with USB on 500 series still, and I have issues even on X470 today with the latest AGESA.
