After beta, Battlefield 2042 system requirements were altered.

After beta, Battlefield 2042 system requirements were altered.

In preparation for the imminent (early) launch of Battlefield 2042's early access phase, EA and DICE have upgraded the system requirements for the shooter.

There are two noticeable differences, the minimum system requirements for Battlefield 2042 no longer include a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, but instead merely a Ryzen 5 1600 processor instead.  Electronic Arts are now adhering to the AMD CPU minimum requirements, even if the recommendations remain consistent with the original presentation.

 Minimal hardware (old)Minimal Hardware (New)
Windows Windows 10 64 bit Windows 10 64 bit
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Ryzen 5 1600

Graphics card AMD Geforce GTX 1050 Ti Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
Graphics cards Nvidia Radeon RX 560 Radeon RX 560
Storage space 100 GByte HDD 100 GByte HDD

Then there is one additional change: instead of a Radeon RX 6600 XT, a Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT is now suggested in place of the former. It is possible that the RX 6600 is currently deemed an entry-level card merely since it was announced in the middle of October and has only been around for a short period of time ( RX 6600 in the PCGH test ). Battlefield 2042 necessitates the use of the RTX 3060 and RX 6600, which are the cheapest and most up-to-date raytracing cards available from Nvidia and AMD.

Damn, running this game on a 4 core 4 thread cpu? Not gonna be a great experience.

Probably be the same as running CP2077 on quad. Hope Guru3d will have benchmarks.

Performance is still hot garbage.

Sitting around 65% GPU usage at 3440x1440, lmao...

Is that with the 12900k ? Got a screenie with performance metrics on ?

Z690 formula and DDR5 kit hasn't arrived yet so that build is in limbo.

This is with a 8700K @ 4.8GHz and 16gb/3200. People reporting similar results with more modern processors so... They better fix it soon.

Indeed.

But i would still love to see a screenie with performance metrics on, if you got it :)

In the beta, even when i locked the fps to 58 fps, using g-sync, i would get nearly constant stuttering, which is evident in the frametime graph

This was using the ultra settings - i had to set it to low to get it smooth. From what i could see, it is because the game is doing way too aggressive streaming, rather than load the vram / ram, which is stupid - could probably be alleviated by having a vram slider like in CoD, where you can control how much vram the game is allowed to use.

Why DLSS t just 3440x1440 on a 3090? I mean, other than if you're getting such low FPS. I would expect to get more on a 3090.. Even at 60% utilization.
