After beta, Battlefield 2042 system requirements were altered.
In preparation for the imminent (early) launch of Battlefield 2042's early access phase, EA and DICE have upgraded the system requirements for the shooter.
There are two noticeable differences, the minimum system requirements for Battlefield 2042 no longer include a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, but instead merely a Ryzen 5 1600 processor instead. Electronic Arts are now adhering to the AMD CPU minimum requirements, even if the recommendations remain consistent with the original presentation.
Minimal hardware (old) | Minimal Hardware (New) | |
---|---|---|
Windows | Windows 10 64 bit | Windows 10 64 bit |
CPU AMD | Ryzen 5 3600 | Ryzen 5 1600 |
CPU Intel | Core i5-6600K | Core i5-6600K |
R.A.M. | 8 GiB | 8 GiB |
Graphics memory | 4 GiB | 4 GiB |
Graphics card AMD | Geforce GTX 1050 Ti | Geforce GTX 1050 Ti |
Graphics cards Nvidia | Radeon RX 560 | Radeon RX 560 |
Storage space | 100 GByte HDD | 100 GByte HDD |
Then there is one additional change: instead of a Radeon RX 6600 XT, a Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT is now suggested in place of the former. It is possible that the RX 6600 is currently deemed an entry-level card merely since it was announced in the middle of October and has only been around for a short period of time ( RX 6600 in the PCGH test ). Battlefield 2042 necessitates the use of the RTX 3060 and RX 6600, which are the cheapest and most up-to-date raytracing cards available from Nvidia and AMD.

He is using a 8700k, not 12900k, as he wrote on the previous page

Indeed, it is limited by your cpu - in 8v8 TDM you'd likely get 99% gpu usage.
But it just looks to me like the engine cant cope with 128 players without requiring too many cpu cycles for it to be feasible.

Do you mean 60 hz servers ? If so, then yes

What?
Bright memory is a SP game which is gpu limited(heavy rt with 4k) versus dlss performance mode.
4K vs 1080P will easily more than double your FPS.
And BF is very cpu limited so it's no wonder he is not utilizing the GPU.
Those two games are not comparable.

Yeah I guess it's hardware limitation due to 128 players, in smaller modes it's 90+% utilization.
