After beta, Battlefield 2042 system requirements were altered.

After beta, Battlefield 2042 system requirements were altered.

In preparation for the imminent (early) launch of Battlefield 2042's early access phase, EA and DICE have upgraded the system requirements for the shooter.

There are two noticeable differences, the minimum system requirements for Battlefield 2042 no longer include a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, but instead merely a Ryzen 5 1600 processor instead.  Electronic Arts are now adhering to the AMD CPU minimum requirements, even if the recommendations remain consistent with the original presentation.

 Minimal hardware (old)Minimal Hardware (New)
Windows Windows 10 64 bit Windows 10 64 bit
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Ryzen 5 1600

Graphics card AMD Geforce GTX 1050 Ti Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
Graphics cards Nvidia Radeon RX 560 Radeon RX 560
Storage space 100 GByte HDD 100 GByte HDD

Then there is one additional change: instead of a Radeon RX 6600 XT, a Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT is now suggested in place of the former. It is possible that the RX 6600 is currently deemed an entry-level card merely since it was announced in the middle of October and has only been around for a short period of time ( RX 6600 in the PCGH test ). Battlefield 2042 necessitates the use of the RTX 3060 and RX 6600, which are the cheapest and most up-to-date raytracing cards available from Nvidia and AMD.

Graphics settings are resetting after each match too.

And the worst culprit for crap performance below. Had to set DLSS to balanced for this map (notice how blurry the lines are).

Water puddles also look low res.

I honestly wouldn't be able to play with dlss at 1440p in the first place, let alone balanced.

But you do realize that dlss just lowers the render res, which only lowers gpu load, right? Cause it's obvious it's limited by your cpu. So to actually improve your performance, you'll have to lower settings that affects cpu performance - which are nearly all graphical settings in this game, with the exception of dlss and regular resolution setting.

I mean, there's no way in hell they're using 4K textures otherwise it would be at least 150GB total.

Of course but for whatever reason the dips aren't as bad, and micro-stutters aren't as common. This game defies all logic.

Yeah, that does indeed seem very strange.

I got the game running smooth at 90ish fps with my very old 6c/12t cpu with all low settings in the beta, still cpu limited ofc. I'd rather play at native res with low settings, than have such a blurry image, as the one you showed tbh :)

Tested myself, can barely break 70% gpu usage on a 3080ti/3900x @3440x1440p... Ray tracing off all else maxed, rarely do I hit something around 100FPS
