Acer XG270HU 27-in 2560 x 1440 TN Gets FreeSync

Acer XG270HU 27-in 2560 x 1440 TN Gets FreeSync

Acer is to release the XG270HU mid April, but more exciting is the news that this model will feature AMDs FreeSync.  A quick 1ms response time assures that actions or dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without smearing or ghosting effects.

Built with post-consumer recycled ABS plastic, this monitor adorns the characteristic Acer gaming identity with a bold orange strip along the bottom horizontal frame and also outlines the base stand. For easy connectivity, the XG270HU includes HDMI 2.0, DVI, and DisplayPort 1.2.

The XG270HU is built with Acer EyeProtect technologies. This includes flicker-less technology that eliminates screen flicker through a stable supply of power; ComfyView which reduces reflection from light sources on the non-glare panel, low-dimming technology that adjusts screen brightness when working in non-optimal lighting conditions, and a blue light filter to reduce blue light exposure.

You mean I have to buy a freesync capable monitor to have freesync? I thought it was free! I might as well buy a g-sync monitor. I am only kidding, I just find it funny how AMD guys like to say its free when isnt. Some of them are going to get a reality check when they realise they need to spend money to have the feature.

can't judge AMD user, cause they aren't very smart in the first place.

You're an idiot.

Obviously there was going to be a markup on a gaming feature. But the bottom line is that the cost of the FPGA going into G-Sync capable monitors is far greater then the ASIC scalar that's already in every monitor; its simply gaining a feature. Nvidia will either drop the price of G-Sync by changing the FPGA to a ASIC, or they will give it better features, or they will retire it all together.

I doubt many of these monitors are going to have non-freesync versions anyway, making price comparisons impossible.

what if freesync is not free$$ but the relationship to a fixed 60 hz monitor before async.

Sometimes I wish I could reach through this monitor and choke slam idiots like you.

I like the idea of freesync. I rarely rely on vysnc for 95% of the games I play since I am using triple monitors.

Ok ok, now a 22" fullHD IPS panel monitor with free-sync, please. Is that too difficult?
