In tandem with the advancement of graphical capabilities, there is an increasing demand for high-resolution screens with quick refresh rates. Predator series monitors, such as the Acer XB283K KV (XB283K KVbmiipruzx) of the Predator series, which has a "4K" UHD resolution as well as a 144Hz refresh rate, are able to handle this.

HDMI 2.1 is available on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in order for gaming consoles to take advantage of these capabilities. HDMI 2.1 supports 120Hz '4K' capability. An aluminum coated metal stand base and matte polymers throughout are used to construct the monitor, which is mostly black or dark grey with a touch of red at the stand base and neck connection point. The 'VisionCare 3.0' sensor suite is located in the bottom bezel, and it allows the screen to automatically adjust its brightness ('LightSense') and color temperature ('ColorSense') in reaction to ambient lighting. Aside from that, if no one is looking at the screen, it dims and finally goes off (a feature known as "ProxiSense"). The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled via buttons and a joystick located on the back of the monitor. As seen from the front, the right side of the housing is vertically aligned.

The Innolux M280DCA-E7B AAS (Azimuthal Anchoring Switch) panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 ('4K' UHD) is used in conjunction with a 28-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 ('4K' UHD). The model is certified for the G-SYNC Compatible Mode, which has an assumed 48–144Hz VRR range plus LFC, in addition to the Adaptive-Sync refresh rate. The 144Hz refresh rate is also available, as is the 'G-SYNC Compatible Mode.' In addition, HDMI 2.1 VRR is supported by the device. Additional features include a matte anti-glare screen surface that ranges from light to extremely light, a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and viewing angles of 178° and 178°. Additionally, 8-bit Plus FRC dithering is used to support 10-bit color reproduction. A flicker-free WLED backlight has a color gamut of 90 percent DCI-P3 and a peak brightness of 400 cd/m2. It also has a color gamut of 90 percent DCI-P3. In addition, a sRGB emulation setting with a custom DeltaE1 value may be found in the options menu. VESA DisplayHDR 400 support is provided, which is a fundamental level of high dynamic range (HDR) that is somewhat limited in terms of luminance and does not require local dimming. Despite the fact that the panel has eight dimming zones, this only provides a slight situational benefit in terms of contrast. As an added bonus, it allows for optimal use of the monitor's 10 bits of color reproduction and reasonably wide color gamut.

In order to get Eyesafe certification, the monitor's lighting has been changed (to a less energetic) blue peak, which may result in increased viewing comfort. Also available are the standard Low Blue Light (LBL) settings, which provide a more comfortable nighttime viewing experience. A response time of 1 millisecond from grey to grey is specified (approach with caution). The stand that comes with the package is quick release and may be replaced with a 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution if needed. A flip-down headphone hook is located at the top of the stand neck, and a cable-tidy loop is located farther down the stand neck. The stand is fully adjustable, with a maximum height of 115mm (4.53 inches) and the ability to rotate into portrait position. The connectors are primarily oriented downward and feature a DC power input (through an external 'power brick'), DP 1.4 (with DSC), two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C port (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), two USB 3.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio output. A total of two more USB 3.0 ports are positioned on the left side of the screen, both of which are facing forward. Additionally, two 2W speakers are included, and the display is equipped with KVM functionality. This allows for the sharing of USB peripherals between multiple PCs to be accomplished.

Support for VESA mounting is provided.

This is the Predator-themed version of the Nitro XV282K KV that we reviewed previously. It appears to be extremely comparable, but for the fact that it is certified as 'G-SYNC Compatible' rather than FreeSync compatible. It should be noted that this is strictly promotional in nature, and that the actual VRR experience with either vendor will be unchanged – however FreeSync over HDMI compatibility on the Predator may be restricted. HDMI 2.1 VRR, on the other hand, is supported. Additionally, the aesthetics are different, and we're not sure if the Predator version supports KVM. The monitor is currently offered at $630 USD.
