ACER To Release 49 and 55in 4K and HDR Displays

Acer is to release a 54.6inch EB550Kbmiiipx display, it is a 4K / HDR compatible monitor, a second model will be the 49inch EB490QKbmiiipfx, despite the fantastic model names we can mention these monitors have been fitted with an IPS liquid crystal panel.

Each of the panels can manage of 4K / 3840 × 2160 pixels and will support HDR10. Now the shocker, it's rated at a brightness of only 300 cd/2 so you should not expect anything really bright. The contrast ratio is 1,200:1 and rated response time is set at 4 ms (GtoG).

The screens get HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2 compatible) × 1, HDMI 1.4 × 2, DisplayPort 1.2 × 1, analog RGB (D-Sub 15 pin) × 1. Also, it was fitted with a stereo mini audio input, headphone output, 5 W × 2 ch speaker. Power consumption is 130W maximum. External dimensions and weight including the stand are about 1,108.5 × 237.4 × 700.4 mm, about 12.1 kg, 48.5 type. 54.6 type is about 1241.6 x 237.4 x 779.7 mm (same), about 14.4 kg. It comes with HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable, analog RGB cable, audio cable, remote control and so on.

These screens will drop etail in Asia at the end of the month first at prices of 70,000 yen (550 EUR/USD) and 100,000 yen (799 EUR/USD) on June 21st. Hey if you can forget about the HDR implementation, at least they're not expensive.

The price may be low, but the quality is also low
NO HDMI 2.1
NO full array local dimming (FALD)
NO HDR - brightness of only 300 cd/2 It's a bad joke
NO good contrast ratio is only 1,200:1 ( According to their tests )

analog RGB (D-Sub 15 pin) - Are you laughing for 4K ? Even as a joke it's bad

It's not just a monitor that has nothing to do with rules or protocols!
It's just a laugh from the customer!

You're really starting to ridicule yourself if you think you can get features like full array local dimming at such prices and screen sizes. I just checked up on your postings, two pages of nothing other than complaints and negativity. What's your .plan here on these forums?

Ok, so the HDR10 support is pretty good as is the 1200:1 contrast which is really good for an IPS display but ONLY 300cd/m brightness? Come on Acer, that's the same brightness as my non HDR X34a. Means this is just another 'fake' HDR monitor.

Relax guys, budget displays always win the big money, not the sub 1% enthusiast solutions. Yeah I'm still waiting for VA 120hz +, full array dimming, descent contrast, HDR600+, gsync, 4k and at least 32" for less than 1500E :D

Sincerely, it is pretty amazing to get big size 4K monitors at those prices that fast.

Take a step back and be honest: 49" ? 4K ? HDR ? 550 US$ ?

I Love it.

(I bought a full HD 49" for 400 US$ just.... Last year.)
