Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz 27-Inch Gaming Monitor
Again a Full HD monitor, ACER outs their new XB271Hbmiprz (not that's not a typo!). The screen has a TN panel and is GSYNC compatible.
The 27-inch TN LED-backlight monitor supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and provides 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1ms (GTG) response time and 170/160 degree viewing angles.
The monitor comes with a number of advanced features including ‘Dark Boost’ function – increasing the visibility of the dark scenes, ‘Gaming View’ mode – set the optimum image display in accordance with the game genre, ‘Flicker-Free Technology’ function and ‘Blue Light Filter’ function.
Ut has built-in stereo speakers, well for form really as they are 2Wx2, the Predator XB271Hbmiprz offers 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x DisplayPort 1.2 and 4-port USB 3.0 hub. The Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz will go on sale from August 25th for around 70,000 Yen (which is shockingly roughly $690).

I hope the price is a typo, it doesn't make sense at all.
I bought an Acer XB270HU last year, which is a 27" IPS, 1440p, 144hz and Gsync model, at the exact same price.

When you're gaming, you're using your sense of touch, coordination, timing (your brain learns specific timings), ...
Our brains are actually quite good at sensing things being "out of sync". I could have a guy looking at me play with input lag, his eyes won't see it, but I'll notice something is off.
Yes... you are exactly right with that. But that's where people.... forgive my way of putting it..... "Go full retard" when it comes to talking about framerate. People are always saying "That's a lie that the human eye can only see up to 60hz. There is no limit to what the human eye can see. I can easily tell the difference between 60hz, 120hz, and 144hz." All they're doing is making themselves look stupid by using THAT as their basis for the human eye's capabilities. As you said, you notice the difference between the frame rates when you're directly controlling what is going on on-screen. What do you see 9.9 times out of 10 when people are "testing" how well they can determine what framerate their monitor is running at? Fast, twitchy movements. They're looking for telltale signs of a lower framerate.
I mean.... These people are apparently those that COMPLETELY forget that when something is spinning fast enough, our eyes perceive it as spinning the opposite way..... or that if you quickly turn your head WITHOUT moving your eyes, everything between where you were originally looking, and where you stopped, is nothing but a blur.

I would have loved me some Asus SWIFT QHD competition if this Acer assumably supports 3dvision as well.
Because those ROG monitors are insanely priced! ( and because my three HN274H 27" Acer's are going strong nearly 6 years later )
It just seems insane that a TN 3dvision NVsurround QHD upgrade which considering HDR and 4K alone will eventually replace every monitor you own someday??? Even if u dont trust OLED yet.
Should be as expensive as a used car! When the purchase would be temporary till hardware can run 4k in peripheral glory of 3 monitors.
Why even invest in ips when ips can not come close to matching color accuracy of wcg color gamut. The dynamic ratio of HDR and the rich blacks of OLED! In which case...

I believe the number is closer to 72 at a common monitor brightness in a moderately dark room and a 50% duty cycle on a CRT. Every one of those variables changes things, since eyes are an analog chemical system and not a digital system. For instance, the eye responds much faster when things are bright.
And then there's the fact that an LCD doesn't blink, so that particular measurement is useless anyway.
But even with such measurements, it's still totally irrelevant.
If you step in a room with an 80Hz strobe light, you probably won't be able to see the strobe light blinking (At this point it is basically just an arc lamp.) However, you can still TELL that it is blinking when you wave your hands or move around. The images are not linked smoothly together, so the flashes are separated by physical space, so it doesn't matter if your brain can keep up in speed.
I could go more into this, but I would need images, videos, and calculations.
But essentially, if you move something fast enough through even a 1000Hz strobe or refresh, you will still be able to tell, even if you can't see physical flashing.
