Acer Predator X34bmiphz 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor With GSYNC

We reported about this model a couple of times already, ACER in japan is now listing it and it will get product code: X34bmiphz Utilizing the NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology for reducing screen tearing or display lag, this new 34-inch IPS LED-backlight monitor supports a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels and provides 21:9 aspect ratio.

The panel offers a 1000:1 contrast ratio (normal), 300 cd/m2 brightness, 4ms (GTG) response time and 172/178 degree viewing angles. The Predator X34 is equipped with built-in stereo speakers (7Wx2 w/ DTS Sound Audio technology) and has 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 4-port USB 3.0 hub.

The Acer X34bmiphz is available at the other side of the pond for 150,000 Yen (about $1,250). This matches with the preliminary estimated retail price of $1,299.99 in the US.

Why are these 3440x1440 displays so insanely priced? Really don't get it. 4K is cheaper.

It's probably also harder to manufacture a long curved display than a flat standard ratio one.

This display is expensive because its the only display that provides:
UWQHD
1440p
100Hz
GSync

I have this monitor, it's really good. I think best one currently on the market.
If only all games supported this resolution Grrrr.... Fallout 4......

yeah with 4K being cheaper...im not sure what their angle is here...i WANT to go to 34" UWS...i dont care about the curved aspect..but the price...blah...ill live with my 3x29" for now..till they come down...they are just too stupidly priced..no thanks :P

its too bad that Phillips 40" UW 21:9 had an 8ms refresh, or I would have bought it on the SPOT! :P (cant game at that refresh :P)
