Acer adds 15.6-inch gaming laptop with 4K screen

At one point you need to realize that you do not see the dot pixels anymore as they are too close to each other for the eyes to see. Anyway, Acer adds the V Nitro Black Edition notebook which has a 4K 3840 x 2160 IPS screen. It is a spicy laptop alright as next to UHD it gets a Core i7-4710HQ quad-core processor, GeForce GTX 860M graphics card, 16GB DDR3 memory, 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. The MSRP is just $1,499.99.

Acer today announced the expansion of its V Nitro Black Edition Series of powerful notebook PCs, adding a configuration featuring a 15.6-inch 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) display. With a resolution of 3840 x 2160, the UHD display delivers four times the pixels of a 1080p Full HD display, delivering brilliant imagery with stunning clarity and crystal clear details. "The addition of an Ultra High Definition display to the V Nitro Black Edition Series makes it one of the most compelling yet affordable high-performance notebooks on the market today," said Eric Ackerson, senior product marketing and brand manager.

Ideally suited for graphic intensive applications, including gaming, photo and video editing and 3D modeling, it also features a host of powerful technologies including a 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Quad Core processor, Nvidia® GeForce® GTX860M graphics, dual wireless antennas supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies for speedy Internet connections, 16GB of memory, a 256GB(2) SSD and a 1TB(2) hard drive.

Recently introduced, Acer’s powerful V Nitro Black Edition notebook PCs offer superior performance and a host of multimedia and entertainment features in a sleek and elegant design. The V Nitro’s workstation class capabilities make it a great tool for work or play, and its sleek and elegant design allows it to fit into a professional work environment. Lightning fast processing, cutting-edge graphics, brilliant displays, four built-in speakers (8W total output) and Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater™ deliver powerful surround sound for gaming, movies and music. It is the ultimate platform for any power user.

In addition, Acer’s Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) is also included, so users can use the storage capacity on their notebook as their own personal cloud storage device, for ultimate privacy and security. With BYOC Apps, users can sync wirelessly to other devices and get access to their digital files anytime, anywhere.

Assassin’s Creed Unity, free digital download with purchase of qualifying models
Beginning November 3, 2014(3) and while supplies last, Acer will offer a code for a free digital download of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated PC game, Assassin’s Creed® Unity. Assassin’s Creed® Unity is the next-gen evolution of the blockbuster Assassin’s Creed franchise. It is a historical action-adventure game set within Paris during the French Revolution. Customers who purchase qualifying Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition notebooks with a Full High Definition display (1920 x 1080) from participating partners(1), Amazon.com, Newegg.com and TigerDirect.com, will receive the code for the complimentary digital download, while code supplies last.

Anything with a dot pitch above .25 like the dell 30" 2560x1600 is a complete waste of time.
And this size @ 4k is plain idiotic.

And what`s this 4K about K = 1000 Because if that's the case there calling it 4k when its not and people just except it.
False advertising and should not be allowed.

You are right, that resolution is not 4K, it is UltraHD (UHD). Real 4K used in the cinema is slightly more than 4000 pixels wide (4096), and a slightly different aspect ratio. It is not 16:9. This all reminds me of the crap 720p they called HD before when it wasn't really, then added "Full HD" which could mean 1080i or 1080p. Yup, not confusing at all...
