According to Researchers, All HP Omen PCs are Vulnerable to Driver Vulnerability.
All HP Omen Gaming PCs are vulnerable to a security issue due to the pre-installed Omen Gaming Hub software.
Omen's software, which is installed on practically all of the company's desktops and laptops, allows customers to customize fan speeds, clock rates, and lighting. HpPortIox64.sys was created using the free and open-source WinRing0.sys driver. Reading and writing to kernel memory are its primary responsibilities, as is communicating with the operating system about PCI settings and I/O connections. Attackers can use it to elevate their privileges and disable system security, among other things. As a result, other viruses may be able to infiltrate the system undetected.
The vulnerability has been identified as CVE-2021-3437 and is of high severity. There have been no reports of vulnerabilities in the wild, and it looks that HP is distributing updates through the Microsoft Store. A list of affected items can be found on HP's support page. In order to use the Pavilion and Envy PCs, you must update the software.
