A new spike in the price trend of graphics cards can be spotted

A new spike in the price trend of graphics cards can be spotted

We reported last week already that prices for RTX 3060 GPUs would jump up due to component shortages. This week the trend already is moving upwards. The prices of video cards from Nvidia and AMD have increased.

The average Nvidia video card has seen a 9 percent increase in recent weeks, while the average AMD video card has seen a 6 percent increase.  For a time, it appeared like the prices of video cards were heading in the correct direction, but this appears to be changing once more. According to a study conducted by 3DCenter, prices are once again on the rise. Because of these price hikes, Nvidia cards are now 59 percent more costly than the MSRP, and AMD cards are 64 percent more expensive than the MSRP.

Many people are surprised by the price rises, as fewer purchases are being made in China due to the country's tough laws on cryptocurrency mining. The fact that Ethereum produces less means that miners will acquire fewer cards as a result of this. It is speculated that TSMC's price rises may be linked to this development. The fact that the amount of RTX 3060 and 3060 TI cards that Nvidia will supply has also been reduced by half could potentially be a contributing factor in this decision.

BOYCOTT THEM ALL.
Yeah. BOYCOTT.

All those years the gullible were saying for the higher prices "you pay +x% for the +x% performance". We saw it with the GTX1080Ti, GTX Titan, RTX2000 series and RTX3000 seiries. We saw it with RX6000 series now AMD is competitive.

For heaven sake Radeon *60 and Nvidia *60 were bellow the mid range price ($120/150) Now we pay more than previous top of the range cards. (MSRP $400+)

Within a generation prices doubled and they will double again with the next gen if we do not stop buying GPUs.

We do not have to upgrade but they need our money.

So we have all the power.

Wake up. Is a racket. Stop buying GPUs completely until both companies feel it in their pockets.
Especially Nvidia which doesn't sell much else.

This is a war we can win within months having NO loses and casualties.
Spread the word.

You can't even buy good old video cards second hand now for reasonable price.

Pretty much, I've noticed this as well... it's frustrating.

You can get a 1080Ti for around £350 a 1080 for £280.
Personally 1080Ti has enough VRAM too as I have met few games using 8GB making the RTX2000 except the expensive 2080Ti redundant.
