4 Terabyte SSD under 500 USD ?
With the development rate as fast as it is and with stacked NAND memory cells, the sky is the limit and it will only be time before HDDs are a thing of the past. Muskin is one of the very first to release a 4 TB SSD, and it is doing so under 500 USD.
Now there's a trick they apply though. The product will be fitted with SM2246EN controllers. Typically, these max out at a 2TB limit (per controller). However add two of them with two seperate NAND partitions in an SSD and you can double them in JBOD.
It kind of atrick as you might as well just add two SSDs and JBOD these right ? Anyway, the interesting part really is the price level at $0.13/GB. Once controllers get support for 4TB and higher, the cost would go down even more.

I'll have the drive.
Something tells me that performance wise might suffer a bit based on that configuration, but who cares! 4TB SSD for 500 bucks? Want a check or cash?

I'll have the drive.

Sign me up also !!!
Yes, performance might suffer a bit, but as a fast storage drive, this would be more than acceptable.
