Ubisoft has been working on a new installment of the Prince of Persia saga nearly a decade ago, called Prince of Persia: Redemption, and it was canceled in 2011. Although we had never seen anything about it, now three minutes of gameplay came to light.

Andre Belleau, a former technical assistant and graphic designer at Ubisoft, confirmed this is the real thing. The funny thing is that the video has been on YouTube since 2012, and no one had noticed.

Prince of Persia: Redemption was intended as a reboot of the series. Although we don't know Ubisoft's reason for canceling it - it doesn't seem to warrant it, since the gameplay looks fantastic - the game's release was planned for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 between 2011 and 2012.
