Review: Asustor Lockerstor 4 (AS6604T) NAS
We spotted two new trends for NAS units, Multi GigE Ethernet and of course a move towards NAND-based flash storage. In that mindset, Asustor released their very powerful Lockerstor 4 (AS6604T) NAS server. This SOHO NAS is aimed at new audiences, including pro-consumers that stream. Realistically though, it might be one of the most interesting NAS units we have tested to date as it is fast, very feature-rich, and offers two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet jacks as well as two NVMe M.2 slots..

Inno3D GeForce 8800 GT iChill edition review
Inno3D GeForce 8800 GT iChill edition
Since the green hornets from NVIDIA, gives its partners free choice with respect to factory-based pre-overclocking of the G92 '8800 GT 512 SKU the Inno3D GeForce 8800 GT iChill edition Guru3D tests today ships with a significant higher frequency. The card comes with an overclock from reference 600MHz to 700MHz and uses 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1,000MHz (2000 MHz effectively).
Next to that, better cooling, better design and a free game bundled, not a bad one either .. all that at a competitive price ? You betcha ..

NVIDIA renames Forceware Driver to GeForce drivers
I don't know if you guys noticed it but apparently NVIDIA has renamed it's drivers. At first I figured this was an Aprils fools joke, but that does not seem to be the case as more drivers seem to get renamed at NVIDIA's website.
Back on the year 1998 the drivers where called Detonator drivers, 2003 up-to April 2008 ForceWare ... and for now the new name will be "GeForce drivers".
I think this has to do with a more simple naming of the drivers, GeForce drivers. You can't confuse that. Not the entire NVIDIA website has been updated, yet you'll notice that the newer pages will show 'GeForce Release 174 drivers'.

GeForce 9500GT specifications surface
There will be two versions. One with GDDR2 memory at 900MHz and one with GDDR3 at 1600MHz. Both have 128-bit memory interfaces. A review posted at Chinese site zol.com.cn and reveals performance which is just slightly better than GeForce 8600GT, which isn't all that surprising since the product specs are really similar.
Just like the rest of the series 9 products, this product isn't all about performance, but PCIe 2.0, lower power consumption and an updated PureVideo HD.

Sony's Bravia E4000 series
See it? No there, the one that looks like a flat screen TV hanging on the wall. Right, that's Sony's new E4000 TV series. Sony has gone all arty with its Bravia E4000 range - offering a 'picture frame' style edging in Midnight Sky, Aluminium, Pearly White and Dark Walnut to match your room decor.
Sony's pushing its new Picture Frame Mode and four "blend in frame colours" hard as its looks to differentiate the 32- and 40-inch Full HD LCDs (and a wee 26 inch of unspecified, sub-1080p resolution) from the competition. As such, the TVs will display one of six, pre-installed images like Van Gogh's Wheatfield with Cypresses. Really though, why bother pre-loading content when it'll display any image you stuff into a connected USB drive. Oh right, copyright law. Anyway, the top-o-the-line 40-inch model features x.v.Color on a 10-bit panel, Bravia Engine 2 processing, 3x HDMI inputs and even SCART for you European old-schoolers. No price or release date just yet.

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition CPU review
The Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition Processor
It's now April 2008 and AMD released their Phenom X4 50-series processors, with an all new fixed B3 core, hopefully they can now leave the past behind them and move forward with a processor that can actually start competing with the competition. The leading 'flagship' processor is the Phenom X4 9850 BE runs at a 2.5 GHz clock frequency at a full 2.0 GHz HT 3.0 speed at a 1.2-1.3V voltage and 125W TDP.
Mind you that this "Black Edition" release, the newest Phenom X4 has an unlocked multiplier that is more interesting for overclocking. We took the CPU to 3200 MHz on just the stock air-cooler.

Subway ticket machine gives back 10,000 Yen bills
The Transport Bureau of Nagoya City on Tuesday said that several commuters at Hisayaodori Station got back 10,000-yen and 5,000-yen bills as change instead of 1,000-yen bills after a station employee mistakenly put the wrong notes in a subway ticket vending machine last Friday.
Authorities said the station lost about 250,000 yen ($2,442) over three hours and that only one passenger had returned the money, which was when station staff first found out about the mistake. According to subway officials, an assistant stationmaster, 57, placed 10,000 and 5,000 yen notes in the space for 1,000 notes by mistake. The vending machine cannot detect differences in notes, the officials said.
Whoops :)

Get Dollars for HD-DVD
Did you plop down big dollars for a high-definition DVD player using Toshiba's HD DVD format -- which recently lost the battle with Sony's Blu-ray format?
Well, depending where you bought it, you may be eligible for a refund or a gift card to ease the disappointment.
Wal-Mart Stores is offering refunds for HD DVD players purchased on or after Nov. 1. To qualify, customers must return the players by April 30 and have a receipt in hand. Original packaging isn't required.
Meanwhile, Best Buy is giving $50 gift cards to customers who bought an HD DVD player or an HD DVD unit for a Microsoft Xbox 360 videogame system anytime before Feb. 23. Gift-card recipients can keep their HD DVD units.
Best Buy says it will mail the gift cards, which don't expire, by May 1 to customers who bought warranties or who are part of its "Reward Zone" program. Other Best Buy customers can call 1-888-BestBuy to participate. Be sure to have your receipt or credit-card information as proof of purchase.
People looking to get rid of a player altogether -- regardless of where it was purchased -- can check out Best Buy's online trade-in center.
You're not looking at great prices when trading in, but it's something. For instance, you'd get $148.50 for a Toshiba HD XA2 unit originally priced at $1,000, and $2.70 apiece for HD DVDs.
BFG GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB OCX edition review
BFG GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB OCX edition
Today Guru3D will review a card from BFG, the GeForce 9800 GTX OCX model. Pretty much, BFG took the reference GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB and made sure the card you are purchasing will function at a very hefty default overclock, while maintaining your warranty. For example, the core is clocked at 756 MHz, the shader processors at 1890 MHz and the memory just over 2300 MHz. This card screams performance.
Since BFG offer a life-time warranty in the US and 10 years in the rest of the world that is just a tremendous combo.

SiSoftware Sandra XII 2008 SP2 (14.20) download
SiSoftware Sandra XII 2008 SP2 (14.20)
SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software.
Sandra is a (girl) name of Greek origin that means "defender", "helper of mankind". We think that's quite fitting.
It works along the lines of other Windows utilities, however it tries to go beyond them and show you more of what's really going on. Giving the user the ability to draw comparisons at both a high and low-level. You can get information about the CPU, chipset, video adapter, ports, printers, sound card, memory, network, Windows internals, AGP, PCI, PCIe, ODBC Connections, USB2, 1394/Firewire, etc.
