Xbox 720 logo in Real Steel movie trailer
Pun or hint ? A trailer for upcoming robot boxing movie Real Steel contains an Xbox 720 logo at the 0:23 mark.
Did Microsoft hint at a new console in the upcoming Real Steel or are the folks behind the movie trying to make some buzz? If you look closely at the latest trailer for Hugh Jackman's robot boxing movie or the featurette from way back in August, you will be able to spot an Xbox 720 logo in a wide shot of the arena.

Samsung transparent 19-inch AMOLED
So I am not quite sure how prartical it is to have no proper black level, but surely it does look nice. Engadget spotted that Samsung has demonstrated a 19" transparent AMOLED panel.
This time we're looking at a 19-inch transparent AMOLED display, taking the technology up from the 14-inch model we saw live at CES in January. The company has now achieved a 30 percent transparency on its designs, and its ideas for how they may be used are fittingly futuristic. Samsung envisions storefront advertising,

Guru3D Rig of the Year 2009
Guru3D Rig of the Year 2009
Out of all the collected entries, each month here at Guru3D.com we select a user submitted rig of the month. This year we started with some sponsoring with a little help from OCZ to make this segment of the website a little more interesting. Each rig of the month will receive a prize starting December 2009, but we just decided on what out of the 2009 entries we here at Guru3D.com feel is the rig of the year.
First off, I like to thank each and everyone who submitted their rig in this contest. The voting system we initially used was showing a discrepancy, as such we decided to judge ourselves.
The winner of the Rig of the Year will receive a spanking new shiny 120GB OCZ Vertex Solid State Disk shipped to the winners home address for free.
The OCZ Vertex Series delivers the performance and reliability of SSDs at a lower price per gigabyte than other high speed offerings currently on the market. The OCZ Vertex Series is the result of all the latest breakthroughs in SSD technology, including the first model on the market to use the Indilinx Barefoot controller, blazing read/write speeds, and 64MB of onboard cache (read our review).
Without further ado -- the winner of the 2009 Rig of the year is Mark Doney - with the March 2009 Rig of the Month entry. Congratulations mark. Check out Mark's rig here.

MSI Afterburner overclocking competition Winners
In Collaboration with MSI, Guru3D earlier on organized a skin and overclocking competition. We've seen some fantastic overclocks and the skins released where absolutely diverse and nice.
The MSI Afterburner overclocking competition ended on Dec 18th. The player who uses the most high-end graphics card was not the winner this time, instead, the winner only used a mainstream card that almost every computer shop sells. For example, the first place player used a GeForce 9500 GT and the second place player used a Radeon 4350 only. We noticed stunning overclocking percentage over 100%
It however now is time to formally announce the prize winners of both competitions !
Winner list of Afterburner overclocking competition. Place Player Overclocking percentage GPU clock VGA Model:
- First Place Nei (MSI Radeon HD 5870)with a 145.00% overclock at 1351 MHz with his MSI N9500GT
- Second Place JMax_OC (Big Bang Fuzion P55 motherboard) with a stunning 140.90% OC at 1325 MHz on a MSI N9400GT
- Third Place is for Mamulos (MSI N275GTX Lightning graphics card) with a 125.16% OC at 1350 MHz with merely a Radeon 4350
We have three runner ups all receiving MSI GeForce 9600 GT in the overclocking competition: MM10x, Siamezu and Jordan199. You can check out some of the entries here in this thread.
Of course there was a second competition, the AfterBurner Skin Competition. The results especially the top three, are really great. Here are the top three winners:
- First Place Buzz44 (MSI P55-GD80 motherboard)
- Second Place CrowTrobot (MSI R4890 Cyclone OC graphics card)
- Third Place CrowTrobot (MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC graphics card)
