Download NVIDIA GeForce 496.61 Hotfix drivers.
Game Ready Drivers provide the best possible gaming experience for all major new releases, including Virtual Reality games. Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix is optimized for the best gameplay on day-1.
We have a discussion thread open on this driver here in our Nvidia driver discussion forums. It seems NVIDIA dropped support for Series 600 graphics card, also the drivers offered are DCH only.
GeForce hotfix display driver version 496.61 is based on the latest Game Ready Driver 496.49. The hotfix addresses the following issues:
- [Transport Fever/Transport Fever 2] Game will crash to desktop on startup [3411731/3409614]
- [Detroit Become Human] Users may experience micro-stutters during gameplay [3389250]
- [Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon] Visual artifacts may be observed during gameplay [3410593]
- [WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship/RiMS Racing/TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2] Game will crash to desktop soon after being launched [3409320/3416650/3408673]

It might be something on your end? Then again, IW8 is extremely hungry for memory on higher settings and can DEV ERROR you outta your mind.
What I could suggest you doing, is changing texture and shadow settings to "Normal".
Regardless, I haven't crashed once with these. So... I can count myself lucky, I guess.
Dev errors aren't caused by low memory, DrDisrespect has 3090/128GB RAM and still gets dev errors.

Random bsod, even in old low intensive game like Oblivion. Also with 472.12 i was able to bench SOTTR in 1440p/Ultra Maxed (Ultra RTX+ Quality DLSS) with @+100/500 core/mem on my 3080 Ti and cpu@5ghz, score 136fps. With 496.xx this bench never finished, game freeze on 3-th market scene, even with no videocard and cpu overcklock. And yes, there is more input lag with 469.xx in online shooters, i play mostly Quake Champions in 720p very low settings and can confirm that.
Nvidia, please fix this crap driver series allready, we can't stay with 47x.xx drivers forever.
BSOD ? Something isn't right with your machine.

i wish people would get it out of their heads that a post on a forum is sufficient information to get a bsod/performance bug logged or fixed.

I did not say that the cause of crash is low memory capacity. What I've meant is that IW8 engine eats extreme amounts of memory, regardless of how much RAM or VRAM you have.
P.S. ... and I'm not talking about a specific DEV ERROR, of which there are many, mind you.

Couple of VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (nvlddmkm.sys) BSoDs each with this HF driver, and the previous 496.49. Didn't see any with 496.13 however, and prior to that, haven't had any BSoDs from GPU drivers for so long I can't remember the last.
One was just sitting at the desktop, the others were while running benchmarks. No GPU overclock, I use MSI AB just to cap the GPU temp at 74°C. 1080Ti. No HAGS if that matters. All clean DDU installs.
Rolled back to 472.39 STUDIO, since they were preforming flawlessly anyway. Nothing in the latest branch that I "need", so think I'll stick with them and just wait for the next "Studio-worthy" release.
