Download NVIDIA GeForce 471.96 WHQL drivers. Prior to a new title launching, the driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix is included for the best gameplay on day-1. Additionally, this release also provides support for 6 new G-SYNC Compatible displays.

Game Ready Drivers provide the best possible gaming experience for all major new releases, including Virtual Reality games. Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix is optimized for the best gameplay on day-1. We have a discussion thread open on this driver here in our Nvidia driver discussion forums. For those that wonder, the DCH driver is a Microsoft DCH (Declarative Componentized Hardware supported apps) driver and refers to a new Windows 10 driver package preinstalled by OEMS implementing the Microsoft Universal Driver paradigm. While the base core component files remain the same, the way DCH drivers are packaged differs from previous Legacy (Standard) drivers.

Fixed Issues

  • DPC latency is higher when color mode is set to 8-bit color compared to 10-bit color. [3316424]
  • Unable to detect supported display modes for the Samsung Odyssey G9 display [3332327]
  • Blue-screen crash/reboot loop occurs when two Samsung Odyssey G9 displays @ 240Hz are connected. [3256732]
  • NVDisplay.Container.exe constantly writes data to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\nvtopps\nvtopps.db3. [3350171]
  • [Windows 11][Notebook]: With the graphics mode set to Hybrid, the GPU frequently wakes up while idle. [3345922]
  • [CUDA][Turing/Volta GPUs]: Stability issues with Topaz Denoise AI. [200755368]

Known Issues

  • [Deathloop][HDR]:TDR/corruption occurs in the game with Windows HDR enabled. If this issue occurs, toggle the Windows HDR setting.
  • [NVIDIA Control Panel]: After overinstalling the driver using express install when GPU scaling is enabled, the 0.59x upscaling factor is missing from the NVIDIA Control Panel scaling resolution list (Display > Change Resolution page).
To work around, disable and then re-enable GPU scaling. Alternatively, perform a clean driver installation.
  • [Battlefield V][DirectX 12]: The game may crash with HDR enabled. [3353767]
To work around, enable HDR from the Windows display settings before launching the game.
  • [YouTube]: Video playback stutters while scrolling down the YouTube page. [3129705]
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 may display graphical artifacts. [200754013]
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed may crash on courses where players drive through water. [3338967]

FreeStyle already adds an absurd overhead of ~10%

Wish GFE team would look into Freestyle optimization. I use it occasionally but it's insane how much it tanks performance in relative terms when it's active even with simplest filters.

Noticed an issue in Overwatch on this driver -- I don't recall this issue occurring prior to this and the last driver.

Whenever I'm playing the game (G-Sync + Control Panel V-Sync ON + in-game FPS limit to 140 on 144 Hz monitor), it runs fine/smooth, BUT if I Alt+Tab out of the game then back in, sometimes it borks the whole thing and performance becomes worse and the game begins microstuttering frequently.

I verified this several times and also tested disabling fullscreen optimizations, but it didn't help. The only way to fix this is to restart the game then just don't alt tab out. It did seem like sometimes alt tabbing would cause it and other times it wouldn't, but it's definitely the alt tabbing that's doing it. Once it does occur, it stays that way til reboot even if you manually switch the game to windowed mode then back to fullscreen for example.

This is super annoying and I don't think this used to happen on older drivers.

I noticed that issue randomly when alt-tabbing in some games (not all)they don't recover properly after you alt-tab in and out.
Current game that I'm playing that randomly seems to get the issue (because I alt-tab in and out alot) is pathfinder wrath of righteous and the game becomes a micro stutters mess the longer you play.Could be because its running Unity tho. (hehe POS engine)

I don't have GF experience installed. I don't see reason to have to register to this bloatware...

Yes, but as long as ReShade works, this is pointless, as adding at least one filter (doesn't seem to matter much which) via FreeStyle already adds an absurd overhead of ~10%. Whereas total costs of ReShade inject + CAS is more like ~3% if it works correctly (i.e. not regressed like versions after 4.8.2 in CyberPunk).

I don't use either these days, so didn't know about the overhead.
For Cyberpunk I use DLSS 2.2.6.0, and I guess the build in CAS also does it's job.

I don't have GF experience installed. I don't see reason to have to register to this bloatware...

I started to use it for live streaming and recording, gives me less overhead than some other popular options.
