Some people have to be dramatic.

Ahhhh yeah, scaling issues and killing your card are two VERY different things

I had problems with default scaling on lots of the last drivers (it was fixable by manually resetting the Windows scaling values back to 100%). This driver is the first in a long time where the scaling is 100% by default for my laptop with 7970Ms and I don't have to reset it manually after installation, which is good. It's too bad there has been an adverse effect for others, though.

They definitely changed something about default scaling.

Not such problem for me... Nor anybody else in the forum here. Except you.
Try DDU and install again.
I can confirm the scaling issue because i am facing it as well. Always use DDU to install new driver, no luck. Though i can fix the issue from scaling options of radeon settings. For me this happens with 15.5.2 and later versions. 15.5.1 is perfect. Right now i am using sapphire 390x
