Unsure how important it is for newer software but might be useful to know about. :)

I'm just gonna throw this out just in case someone experiences issues.

AMD broke hardware vertex processing on the 17.12.1 driver on Direct3D.
A handful of games keep crashing on me that let me toggle hardware vertex processing.
Disabling it resolves the crash. I'm not sure if this will affect PCSX2.

Yawn, your gpu is based on a 5 1/2 year old GPU. GCN 1.0 HD 7850.

What is pathetic, people not figuring out how to fix it and cry for a software solution to fix a bios issue for most GCN 1.0. A simple bios fix of making UVD state 2 matching performance 1 fixes the issue. Took 10 minutes to do on my old HD 7850 crossfire that I also ran eyefinity off.

I agree. Thats what i did on a Sapphire 7970 6Gb version to fix UVD clock issues for GCN 1.0. Some people will choose to disagree and argue this and that.....worked perfect for me. NOT saying it will work for everyone.... seems to to work for some though, doesn,t it. On another note the last couple of driver releases without Relive seem to behave OK will the limited testing i have done, with the cards standard bios.....once again might not work for everyone.

DDU has it in options and it is toggle-able.

I just downloaded 17.0.8.1 (latest) to confirm. It is still called "Crimson Shader Cache."

Seems you can make it store the configuration under %APPDATA% for future versions. I haven't tested it.

Yeah, I know. That's why I was asking about it - I thought it got wiped out using that option in DDU. And, for the record, I always use DDU before installing any new driver. It helps keeping away from trouble a lot.

    :sigh:

    In C&C3 (i know dx8) error at atiumdag.dll.I put an older one(e.g. 17.10.3 or 17.11.2) in "CnC3 Tiberium Wars\RetailExe\1.9" and it works.

Yawn. The Bios flash doesn't fix shit, it's a workaround and an awful one. All it's doing is causing more power draw for video playback, and it isn't how the card is supposed to operate. No wonder you don't get the UVD bug, because your card doesn't even even have a UVD mode left with that fix you suggested. I feel pity for whomever ends up buying used hardware from you.

And the more you talk about the GPU being old, the less it makes sense for it to have driver issues, because even the most recent iteration of AMD GPUs aren't hassle free. An architecture that has been around for almost 5 years should have less problems. I am going to report your posts from here on.
