Download the AMD Catalyst 14.12 WHQL (Omega) driver. This driver is WHQL signed and works with Windows 7 and 8.1.
The past few months the driver team has been working on a series of driver optimizations. Interestingly enough, most games that we tested show some sort of performance increase, and that's throughout the Guru3D software suite.
Catalyst changes and updates can be bulleted up towards these features.:
- Virtual Super Resolution (VSR)
- Video playback enhancements
- 5K LCD Panel Support
- Frametime Frame Pacing enhancements
- Performance optimizations for APUs
- Performance optimizations for Dedicated graphics cards
Performance Optimizations versus AMD Catalyst 14.9 WHQL
- Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth performance optimizations - Mantle API activated for ultimate performance in Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Eart
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare performance optimizations - Up to 30% performance increases with FXAA and lower game resolutions
- Optimized AMD CrossFire Profile update for improved performance - Assassin's Creed Unity performance optimizations
- Single GPU performance improvements - Optimized AMD CrossFire Profile update for improved performance
- Dragon Age: Inquisition performance optimizations - Up to 15% performance increase in single GPU scenarios with Anti-Aliasing enabled.
- Optimized AMD CrossFire Profile update for improved performance
- Far Cry 4 performance optimizations - Up to 50% performance increase in single GPU scenarios with Anti-Aliasing enabled.
The most prominent one will be VSR rendering, you guys also know this as super sampling and as DSR from Nvidia. We'll walk through some of these features.

You and I have the same feelings. I was happy to see them rebuild the 7900 to a 280x. I thought wow they will support us for a while. How hard can it be since they are still selling new versions of the exact same card... just one driver fix for both series.
BUT the reality is the 280x people are forgotten as well.
At least we are promised DX12. But probably with lack of features that they could bring down. Just not in the budget or decided not to do it.
I wonder what the real purpose of GCN 1.0 was since they never really did anything with it.
I think they scared people might not buy the r9 290x or r9 285.

Theres a link to pclab test. THX but im done... Never believe them !
This site is on AMD black list ( didnt receive any hardware because of fraud tests...) I remember that I used to check Guru3D reviews vs pclab vs my testing... While Guru's and mine were quite equal pclab always gave Intel/nVidia +10-20% AMD -10/20%
The guy that post it took 1 test from purepc, the one that was the worst while the whole review is quite positive
Its a waste of time trust me
