In an all new article we test, benchmark and review the Samsung 840 EVO SSD. The regular 840 and 840 Pro already were stunning pieces of technology. With the EVO Samsung raises the bar though as the SSD 840 EVO was designed to deliver more speed and even better reliability. To do so Samsung had to apply a very clever trick, magically transform an MLC buffer into SLC programmable.

Hilbert, did you happen to try out the RAPID software as well? It's supposed to boost speeds by using 1GB of RAM as cache, Tom's did some tests but did not go into detail.
