PowerColor Radeon R9-290X PCS+ review

We review the PowerColor Radeon R9-290X PCS+ graphics card, this beast runs at low temperatures whilst being factory overclocked. The 2816 Stream processor based Hawaii chip will get paired with 4 GB GDDR5 memory running along a 512-bit memory interface. The card itself is fully customized including component selection, custom PCB, custom cooling, well .. custom everything ! Powered through 8-Pin + 6-Pin power configuration it obviously runs at factory overclocked specifications as well. The card will clock towards 1050 MHz and has an improved GDDR5 memory frequency as well. Did I just catch your attention ? I figured that much, let's go and check 'r out shall we ?

Nice review.
There is nothing wrong with the card I think. I still have the AMD media sample 290X and nothing is faster than that card with the same clock speeds. I've tried several other cards and it's the same thing.

The temps are I think the real selling point of this. Many people were turned off by the 290X because of how hot it got. I'd say PowerColor did a fantastic job with their cooling design - I'm surprised the GPU couldn't be overclocked higher.
It is a shame about the bit/litecoin miners - while AMD could really use the revenue, the miners are probably really hurting AMD's gaming market. Nvidia is getting a little too far ahead in PC gaming popularity.
Nothing special performance wise, but temps are really nice.

Thanks for review, great cooler!
I was looking at nonx variant ~ 335€ (no tax), not bad
http://geizhals.eu/powercolor-radeon-r9-290-pcs-axr9-290-4gbd5-ppdhe-a1059569.html
Now all we need to see is HIS R9 290 IceQ X²

Why no photos without cooler?, Not shown elemental base power?
