Palit GeForce GTX 780 Ti Jetstream Review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/10/2013 09:42 AM [ 8 comment(s) ]

In this review we test the Palit GeForce GTX 780 Ti Jetstream, armed with that massive triple fan based Jetstream cooler and our FLIR camera we'll see if it really is good cooling. Oh and hey, this model get a factory overclock. NVIDIA unlocked the GPU completely meaning all 2880 Shader processors are available. It also makes use of DrMOS and an 8-phase PWM deaign to increase the card’s stability and improve its overclocking ability.

Nice review Hilbert :)

One question though, you never had to increase the Voltage to attain the clock boosts on memory/core?

Looks like I got a bad sample then I guess, my card is louder, hotter and clocks worse. Sure, I got mine in a case but that should make the card more quiet and not the other way around. In heaven my temps peaked at 74 degrees and the fan ran at 81% power. This using the Thunderstorm program and voltmodding the card to the maximum allowed.

Correct, I did not tweak Voltage. However you are and that results into the higher temps, 74 C makes absolutely sense. Personally with the power limiters etc I feel that it's best to leave voltage tweaking for what it is. It is not gonna help you OC significantly as the power limiter will prevent everything. So increase the power limiter to max, OC and that's roughly it.

Unless you'd be making it a Liquid cooled solution I don't see the big benefit really. How is you card behaving non overclocked/tweaked ?

Oh I see, so voltage tweaking will not make the OC more stable due to power limit of 106%? Got it!

I'll do one more test at stock OC (980MHz) and check temps/fans then. Did a quick run when I installed the card but with an open case and don't remember acoustics or otherwise.

Unfortunately my mem chips do not seem to want to clock any higher than +250 compared to your +450. Actually when I set this speed before benching the card locks up.

Finally!! Thanks boss! Sweet card and great review!

I can get this card for 615euros inc shipping in the EU. Sweet!

Now I need to sell my GB 780 WF3.. :D

Hilb may I ask please what was the voltage for the OC@1216Mhz? 1.15v or 1.16v?

I think it is 1.137V stock.
