Intel 530 SSD review 4

Intel has released the series 530 SSD, and we review it. This is the arrival of the new 20nm MLC based 530 series for consumers, with more 530 models to follow later this quarter. Intel doesn't plan any other new consumer SSDs until Q2 2014 at the earliest, other than the occasional "product optimization". Let's check out the review.

Question about the listed SSD's. You have the Sandisk Extreme III listed in the benchmark charts & every time I search for this its Micro SD's not SSD's. Are the charts in error & these are supposed to be Sandisk Extreme II?

Edit: Ah! I just looked at the listed SSD reviews & you do have a Sandisk Extreme II & even in that review you list it as Sandisk Extreme III in the benchmark charts.

Yeah they aren't cheap, but like u said the 520 series was (is?) a great drive & Intel's 5yr warranty is worth the premium in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the review. :)

Corsair also has a five year warranty on their Neutron 256GB SSD, though. On paper Corsair's capacity is a bit higher as is their 4KB random read/write. Their max sequential write speed is a little lower than Intel's 530 though. The Corsair Neutron 256GB SSD is cheaper, especially if one is planning to buy more than one for a RAID setup.

I'm not sure how much more reliable one is over the other, though. I haven't bought a couple for my gaming PC yet due monetary reasons, but I'm definitely considering two Corsair Neutron 256GB SSDs in the near future for RAID 0.
