Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull? We will look at Codemasters F1 2017 in a PC graphics performance and PC gamer way. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and benchmarked. We have a look at performance with the newest graphics cards and technologies.

I've been enjoying this game since launch, it's nice to see some benchmarks for a racing game, doesn't happen too often, thanks Hilbert :)

Thanks for the article HH!

How come RX 580 8GB outrun RX 480 8GB in 1080p by 9fps?o_O There shouldn't be 9 fps difference between these two cards, they're almost identical with a bit higher GPU clock on RX 580 side but almost 13% higher fps on RX 580 side, wtf!? Driver "optimizations" in favour of RX 580 cards?

Meeh, not entirely. The difference in-between 480 and 580 is roughly in the 10% mark thanks to boosting and the binned XTX GPUs. Account for a bit of anomalies (no racing lap reproduces 100% similar results due to random stuff happening) so that 12~13% differential makes sense. But sure it is a little on the high side.

Could it be like what happened with Hawaii with the refresh getting favorable driver improvements over the older cards at first then performance coming in line later?

Considering both are Polaris, I highly doubt that.
