We review the Crucial X8 SSD (1TB). This, by far, among the fastest portable storage to date as it is NVMe based, combined with the DNA of NMVe it can reach 1050 MB/sec over USB 3.2 Gen2.

I think QLC on something like this is an okay IMO. Even if you were to use it as a expansion hard drive for a console the number of writes would not be very high. My 1TB 600p tha I use as a game drive has 1/5 the number of TB written compared to my 500GB 970evo I use for OS.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK...... Great review as always @Hilbert Hagedoorn ..... Keep up the solid work!.!

Just one question on performance as to why the low score on the ISO movement portion??

Is an issue with the QLC and the compression?

I would not call 500~600 MB/sec over USB3 a low score. But for the same reasons explained in the conclusion, at one point the QLC/TLC write hole kicks in.

Not low in the "normal" sense, but as in comparison is all. Wanted to make sure what I was thinking..."QLC" does/did it's worst at that point.
