Today we review the Asustor AS6208T NAS. This SOHO based NAS unit offers 8 HDD bays and was designed to be the price competitive NAS unit for the small business owner and heavy consumer. The unit really is a small server offering a wide range of features from advanced RAID functionality, towards Media center output towards LAN Link Aggregation with it's four gigabit Ethernet jacks. The sky is the limit with the AS-6208T as it is plenty powerful as well.

NAS units like these will easily last you 5 to 10 years -quoted from conclusion page

can i believe NAS units on market nowdays can last that long ?
its parts, like its PSU unit last 10years with 24/7 usage?
even 5 years sound already good enough ...

if it indeed last 10years for the prices its good enough (roughly around 100euro/year, maybe more if include hdd price)

but say it last 5years, then it still kinda expensive for home usage ... well people with thick pocket might think different, but not for me

building custom nas end up similar price if not cheaper, with benefit easier to replace failing parts
