Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ review 4

In this review, we look at the ROG Strix XG27UQ, and what a fantastic product we test today. In specifications and quality I mean, as the ROG Strix XG27UQ is a 27" Ultra HD slash HDR rated monitor. This 3840x2160 pixels monitor can handle 144Hz combined with GSYNC and is a DCS monitor, and that means no chroma subsampling issues.

You know monitors in general are in a sad place when an 800:1 contrast ratio is considered "very good"

For watching HDR videos, such as Blu-Rays, you just need MadVR and a software video player that supports this renderer, such as MPC-HC. You don't have to have or do what this article suggests regarding watching non-streamed HDR videos. MadVR might be troublesome to learn or configure for some people, but it has all the necessary bells and whistles.

Why would you bother when the ROG PG43UQ has been out for a couple of months now and has all this PLUS proper HDR1000 support and better contrast? I have had one since they launched in June and it is top banana.

I agree with Hilbert. The cost of going from QHD to UHD isn't worth it on 27 inch monitor, for content Creator there are better monitors and personally as a photographer 27in QHD is enough for me.
