The introduction of PC technology advanced many areas of the audio market and made many tasks a great deal easier. One area where the PC influenced the advancement greatly is the area of audio recording. Not so long ago the audio studio was the exclusive playground of artists and people with deep pockets.

The introduction of the PC changed all that and these days an audio recording studio is within reach of almost everybody with a moderately powerful PC or laptop. This is a great time to be involved in PC based audio recording. More and more companies are joining the ranks of PC audio hardware suppliers. Auzentech best know for their impressive X-Meridian and X-fi Prelude 7.1 soundcards recently acquired North American Distributor interests from Sims Audio a known brand name for recording hardware in many parts of the world.

Sims audio has a few sub brands that deal with various facets of PC audio. We have the Jam Mate and Infrasonic brands the cover everything from USB 2.0/firewire audio interfaces to PCI cards, Studio reference Monitors and MIDI instruments/controllers.
This company while brand new to the North American PC audio market is a well known and highly respected brand overseas.

Today, we will be looking at a new product from Infrasonic, namely the Windy6 Firewire recording interface. We have this new interface in the Guru3D audio Lab and we are interested in running it through its paces and gauging what this new audio product has to offer the PC audio community. One last note this is a Guru3d Audio Lab exclusive as this interface is still unreleased in North America at press time.

Test, 1 … 2 ...  3 … Check, check… Let's get to it shall we?
