AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors
Including Threadripper 1900X - 1920X and 1950X

With the introduction of Ryzen and more recently the announcement of Threadripper processors the processor market and channel has been turned up-side down. It gave Intel an awakening call and as such they needed to step up, significantly. In this technology preview we'll have a closer look as to what AMD is releasing with Ryzen Threadripper with the product announced and launching today.  There will be three Threadripper processors, all available starting this month with respective X399 motherboards available. There are a number of announcements made today, and I will be gathering most important information here in this item, including the unannounced Ryzen Threadripper 1900X!

The launch involves the previously unannounced 8-core Ryzen Threadripper 1900X, the 12-core 1920X and the beast to rule them all, the 16-core 1950X. Double the numbers up as all these procs are SMT and thus hyper-threaded. We already talked about the two announced models, AMD is to release three SKUs and the X399 motherboard platform. All processors are fully unlocked and seat themselves onto the new Socket sTR4 (4094 pins!). It is confirmed that this processor and X399 motherboard platform is based on quad-channel memory capability, and as previously already shared that massive processor will offer you a staggering 64 lanes of PCI Express, including that all new and perhaps very popular 8-core Threadripper 1900X.

As you can observe from the above slides, AMD is going aggressive with the HEDT platform, proper pricing, mega threaded performance while making it difficult for Intel as much as they can.

Next page please for a bit more info of the processor models released as well as a chat on X399.
