Deepcool AS500 air cooler review

Today, we are reviewing an air cooler from Deepcool: the AS500 (a bit too much similarity to the name of a recent Corsair air cooler – the A500, right?). It’s not the first Deepcool product that we reviewed here on guru3d. For example, over a year ago we had the opportunity to check out their flagship Assassin III model. This time around it’s a single-tower CPU cooler based on the five heat pipe design and a TF140S PWM fan, all packed into a slim form factor.
The Deepcool AS500’s fan has a wide RPM range of 500 to 1200. The maximum airflow is 70.81 CFM, with the noise levels not exceeding 26 dBA.
Thanks to the cooler’s slim design (48 mm), there shouldn’t be any conflicts with RAM sticks. The five heat pipes are 6 mm thick. Add to that the high fin density and the performance shouldn’t be an issue in most scenarios. As for the non-so-standard things (in an air cooler), you’ll find the RGB element here. The top cover of the heatsink is equipped with ARGB lighting. You can control it via motherboard software, like:

  • Asrock Polychrome Sync,
  • Asus Aura Sync,
  • Gigabyte RGB Fusion,
  • MSI Mystic Light Sync,
  • Or Razer Chroma RGB

There is an option to change the lighting effects using the dedicated (and bundled) controller. The Deepcool AS500 is compatible with the following CPU sockets:

  • AMD - AM4/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2/FM2+/FM2/FM1
  • Intel - LGA2066/2011-v3/2011/1200/1151/1150/1155

It’s going to be interesting to see how it performs against other air coolers, including the flagship Noctua NH-D15 and some AIOs, right? We’ll check that on both AMD (Ryzen 7 3700X) and Intel (Core i9 9900K) platforms. For a price of 59 USD, you receive a slim cooler with a 140 mm fan and some RGB. Let’s head to the specs/feature page, shall we?

Deepcool CH510 chassis review
This time, we’re checking out a (theoretically) high-cooling, performance-oriented mid-sized ATX tower PC chassis –a Deepcool CH510. It looks almost the same as the other Deepcools products; I mean the CG560 and Deepcool CK560, which were already reviewed on guru3d (in November 2021 and April 2022). The front panel looks slightly different (as it’s closed this time), but that’s not a significant change (still – not the best that could have been done). Let’s check if there are other things as well.
