Contest 1: The Wicked Guru Photo Contest

Hello all and welcome to the first contest we are starting up this week. Guru3D.com is ten years of age and as such we really want to celebrate that fact, not only with some interesting articles, but of course also with some really sweet competitions.

And I say sweet competitions here as, my man... we have so much lined up to give away as prizes, it's nearly crazy.

This week we'll be starting several contests, and we'll be giving away multiple thousands of dollars and Euros worth in prizes.

THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED - WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON

An overview of submitted photo's can be found here.

Contest winners have been announced here.

Today we are starting contest 1, the prizes for this contest are SICK! So we wanted this competition to be creative. First let's check out the prizes we are giving away here, be amazed:

First prize package:

  • GeForce GTX 285 personally signed by Jen-Sun Huang, the man himself, the CEO of NVIDIA!
  • Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound card
  • OCZ Blade 2000MHz 7-8-7 Triple Channel 6GB
  • OCZ Vendetta 2 including Core i7 brackets
  • OCZ Illuminati Keyboard
  • OCZ Behemoth Mouse
  • OCZ Behemoth Mousepad
  • BFG EX1200 Power Supply

This first prize pack is insane, that GTX 285 personally signed by Jen-Sun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA is already priceless, and I will HATE shipping it out, that is a collectors item right there.

But next to that we'll include an Auzen Forte 7.1 X-Fi soundcard and then an extraordinary OCZ Technology hardware bundle. That Blade DDR3 memory alone is worth 400 EUR folks. Good equipment of course needs a good power supply, so we'll throw in a BFG 1200 Watt power supply as well.

The total estimated value of the first prize package is closing in on 1500 EUR alone. Piece by piece quality components.

Second Prize package:

  • ECS X48T-A
  • BFG GeForce GTX 285 OC2
  • Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound card
  • PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 power supply

The second prize has a total estimated worth of roughly ~700 EUR. The winner will get a high-end motherboard, top of the line graphics card, high-end soundcard and to top it off, a lovely quality power supply from PC Power & Cooling.

Third prize package:

  • Corsair TX650W PSU
  • HIS Radeon HS 4870 IceQ 4+ TURBO
  • Zalman NC1500 notebook cooler
  • Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound card

Fourth prize:

  • ECS N9600GT-512MX-F
  • Corsair TX650W PSU

Fifth prize:

  • HIS Radeon HD 4670 iSilence 4 1GB

As you can see, for this competition we compiled some excellent prizes. But what do you need to do to give yourself a chance of winning one of these amazing prize packages?

Well we want to see photos with a Guru3D.com theme! Example:

A Decade Guru3D.com

Another example, you stand before their Eiffel tower with Guru3D printed on a piece of paper or cardboard. This is a requirement, the photos can be taken anywhere and anytime, but Guru3D.com must be somehow displayed in the photo.

** You may not photoshop the Guru3D logo into a photo !
** You do not have to be in the photo yourself either (would be fun though!).

Download Guru3D.com logo to print:

  • Download Horizontal print logo
  • Download Vertical print logo

So again: print out a Guru3D logo (it does not have to be the download examples above), use it... and take a picture of it at a unique location or environment. Mount Everest, Eiffel Tower, in a concert, at a theme park etc. etc. A Decade Guru3D.com

This is easy to do and shows Guru3D all around the globe in interesting locations.

Some examples of what you could do:

  • Go into the city, amongst the crowd stand in the middle with a carton with Guru3D.com on it.
  • At the beach, carve Guru3D.com in the sand as big is you can and take a photo with somebody in it.
  • Get your girlfriend a henna tattoo of Guru3D.com, take a photo send it in.
  • Go artistic, find some nice scenery, place a Guru3D.com logo in there somehow, and take a photo.
  • Hitchhiking along the road, leading to Guru3D.com

Your photo can be artistic, funny, sexy, intriguing, simplistic, moving, shocking, whatever... as long as you do not offend other people as that is not what we are about.

The most original entries will be selected, and the prizes as you have been able to see... are wicked. Definitely worth spending a couple of minutes on taking an original photo. Think it through.

We really hope to see some interesting entries and original places around the globe. We'll also publish all photos here on Guru3D.com, well... the ones that are suitable for the eyes of course!

Where to send your entries:

Simple, submit an email to xxxxxxxxx Bear in mind that we do not collect your email address or the info provided. There will be no marketing purposes; after the contest all entries will simply be deleted again.
